Flower Care
A little care goes a long way. Fresh water, clean vessels and a cool spot will help you enjoy your flowers for as long as possible.
Bouquets
Remove the wrapping and untie the twine.
Give the stems a fresh cut before placing them in a clean vase filled with cool water.
Remove any leaves or foliage that will sit below the water line.
Check the water daily and top up as needed.
Every few days, change the water, rinse the vase and give the stems another fresh cut.
Garden Jars & Vase Arrangements
Check the water daily and top up with fresh, cool water as needed.
Every few days, gently hold the arrangement together and lift it from the vessel.
Give the stems a fresh cut.
Empty and rinse the vessel, then refill it with fresh, cool water.
Gently return the arrangement to the vessel.
Tip: Before lifting your arrangement, take a quick photo. It can be a helpful reference when placing the flowers back into the vase.
Bloom Boxes & Chicken Wire Arrangements
These arrangements are designed in chicken wire with the stems sitting directly in water. Rather than taking the arrangement apart, refresh the water right in the vessel.
Every few days, give it a good flush:
Place the arrangement in the sink.
Slowly pour fresh, cool water through an opening between the flowers.
Allow the old water to overflow from the vessel as you add the fresh water.
Continue until the water has been thoroughly refreshed.
Check the water level daily and top up as needed.
A Few Extra Tips
Keep your flowers in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight.
Avoid fireplaces, radiators and heating or cooling vents.
Keep arrangements away from ripening fruit, which releases ethylene gas and can cause flowers to age more quickly.
Check the water every day. Fresh flowers can drink a surprising amount, especially during their first few days.
Remove individual blooms and foliage as they naturally finish.
Keep leaves and foliage out of the water whenever possible.
Whenever you refresh your flowers, clean vessels and fresh water are your best friends.
A Note About Flower Life
Flowers don't all age at the same pace. Some varieties naturally have a longer vase life than others, so it's completely normal for a few blooms to finish before the rest.
Simply remove flowers as they fade and continue caring for what's left. You may even find that, as the arrangement changes, you can move the remaining stems into a smaller vase and enjoy them for a little longer.
